Alvin Henderson Nears High School Football’s Exclusive 10,000-Yard Club, Set to Join Derrick Henry and Other Legends

Alvin Henderson, a senior running back from Elba High School in Alabama, is on the cusp of becoming only the 12th player in high school football history to reach 10,000 rushing yards. With just 264 yards left to hit this milestone, Henderson’s season average of 269 yards per game puts him within striking distance, whether in Friday’s matchup against 7-2 Florala or during Alabama’s Class 1A state playoffs.

Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 205 pounds, the Auburn commit has already amassed 2,426 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns in just nine games this season. This follows his record-setting junior year, where he posted 3,523 yards and 61 touchdowns.

If Henderson reaches 10,000 yards, he’ll join a prestigious club that includes NFL star Derrick Henry and LSU running back Treyvion Holly, who was the last to reach the mark in 2022. Below is a complete list of high school football’s 10,000-yard rushers.
