Week 2 of the high school football playoffs promises thrilling action as key matchups unfold across the region.

In a highly anticipated local showdown, the Indian River Wolves will face the Carthage Comets in Philadelphia on Friday night in the Section 3 Class B Semifinals. This game is a rematch from Week 3, where Carthage narrowly defeated the Wolves 41-38, marking Indian River’s only loss this season.

Over in Class C, the undefeated, top-seeded General Brown Lions will take on the 4th-seed Skaneateles at Fayetteville-Manlius High School on Saturday at 11 a.m., with a coveted Dome appearance at stake for the Lions for a fourth consecutive year.

In Class D, the Beaver River Beavers are on a mission for redemption as they travel to meet top-seeded Dolgeville in the semifinals. The Beavers aim to avenge their tough 52-12 loss from Week 2.

On Thursday night in Adams, the South Jeff Spartans are set to defend their Class B-2 championship title as they host Jamesville-DeWitt in the title game at 7 p.m. The Spartans defeated Jamesville-DeWitt 47-14 in their season opener and are eager to repeat their success.

Up north in Potsdam on Friday, the undefeated Sandstoners will face the OFA Blue Devils in the Section 10 Class B Championship, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
