The College Park Cavaliers are set to face off against the New Caney Eagles on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Both teams enter the game with momentum from impressive wins in their previous matchups.
College Park comes into the game riding high after their biggest scoring performance of the season, dominating Cleveland in a 70-0 shutout last Friday. This marked their fourth win by more than 20 points this season, adding to an impressive streak.
Star receiver Clint Rachal continued his stellar season, racking up 169 receiving yards and scoring two touchdowns, with one catch going for a remarkable 81 yards. Quarterback Rodrigo Bravo Jr. also shone, throwing for 139 yards and two touchdowns with an outstanding 87.5% completion rate.
On the other side, New Caney ended an eight-game losing streak with a resounding 47-14 victory over Cleveland, bouncing back from a prior shutout. It was a well-rounded team effort, with Corey Johnson leading the way. Johnson tallied 57 rushing yards and two touchdowns and also threw for 86 yards and an additional touchdown. Kendrick Mitchell was another standout, rushing for 127 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries.
New Caney’s ground game was unstoppable, piling up a season-high 265 rushing yards.
With last week’s win, College Park improved to 5-4, claiming their third consecutive road victory. New Caney, with their first win of the season, now holds a 1-8 record.
In their previous matchup last October, College Park narrowly defeated New Caney 34-27. Will the Cavaliers pull off another win, or can the Eagles turn the tables this time? We’ll find out Thursday night.
