The CIF Southern Section high school football playoffs are underway, featuring 14 divisions in a high-stakes, single-elimination format. The competition’s top bracket, Division 1, sets the tone for the rest, with its lineup determining the structure of the subsequent divisions.
This year’s Division 1 bracket includes 10 teams, an expansion from last year’s eight. Mater Dei, St. John Bosco, Corona Centennial, Mission Viejo, Orange Lutheran, and JSerra have secured first-round byes and will advance directly to the quarterfinals on November 15. Sierra Canyon will face Servite, while Santa Margarita hosts Inglewood in the first-round games scheduled for November 8.
