Alpharetta Rises to No. 8 in MaxPreps Top 25 High School Volleyball Rankings After Clinching Second Georgia Title

Alpharetta High School has climbed to No. 8 in this week’s MaxPreps Top 25 volleyball rankings after completing an undefeated season and capturing its second consecutive Class AAAAAA championship in Georgia. On Saturday, the Raiders secured their title with a decisive 3-0 victory over North Cobb (Kennesaw).

The team was led by standout performances from senior Brooke Boyles, who recorded 16 kills, and junior Kennedi White, who added 10 kills. Junior Kailey Leonard anchored the defense with 16 digs, while SMU-bound Abigail Li contributed 33 assists. Boyles, committed to Long Island University, concluded her high school career with an impressive 1,161 kills.

While Georgia’s postseason has concluded, playoffs are ramping up across the country. In Texas, top-ranked Byron Nelson (Trophy Club), No. 6 Dripping Springs, No. 16 Lovejoy (Lucas), and No. 20 Keller are all competing in UIL playoff action. No. 3 Prestonwood Christian (Plano) begins its journey toward a fourth consecutive TAPPS title.

Southern California also promises a thrilling showdown on Nov. 9, with No. 2 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) facing No. 9 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) in the Southern Section Division 1 final. Mater Dei secured its berth with a sweep in pool play, while Sierra Canyon advanced in a tiebreaker after a hard-fought five-set match against No. 11 Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach).

Regardless of the Southern Section final outcome, these teams are expected to join the CIF Southern California Open Division playoffs alongside previously-ranked Los Alamitos and No. 14 Cathedral Catholic (San Diego), the top seed in the San Diego Section Open bracket.
