The Ascenders have dominated their opponents, averaging a 33.5-point margin of victory and securing wins over No. 22 Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) and Cocoa (Fla.). Meanwhile, Venice, still undefeated at 6-0, boasts one of the nation’s most explosive offenses, averaging 55.8 points per game and earning wins over Cocoa and Northwestern (Miami).
In Texas, Summer Creek (Houston) has been nothing short of dominant, outscoring its first four opponents by a combined 215-0. The Bulldogs face their toughest challenge yet this Friday against No. 24 Atascocita (Humble, Texas). The Eagles feature a dynamic duo with four-star quarterback Cardae Mack and Oklahoma-bound running back Tory Blaylock.
Over in Miami, former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will coach in his first Northwestern vs. Central (Miami) rivalry game. Central, riding a four-game win streak after a season-opening 16-8 loss to No. 17 Lakeland (Fla.), will attempt to defeat the Bulls for the sixth consecutive time.
In Arizona, Brophy College Prep will take on Basha in a contest between two of the state’s top teams. Devin Fitzgerald, one of Brophy’s standout players, follows in the footsteps of his father, a former NFL player. This game promises to be a major showcase of talent.
