Week 12 Recap: How Georgia’s Top-10 High School Football Teams Performed

Class 6A

1. Carrollton (10-0)
Last week: Defeated Douglas County 49-28. Carrollton pulled ahead with three touchdowns in the second half after Douglas County closed the gap to 27-21. Julian Lewis threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-26 passing. Kimauri Farmer ran for 147 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding a 47-yard TD reception. Messiah Satterwhite added 98 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Carrollton outgained Douglas County in total yards, 543-385, clinching the No. 1 seed from Region 2.

2. Buford (9-1)
Last week: Beat Mill Creek 32-7. Jordan Allen recorded 172 receiving yards on five receptions, scoring three touchdowns, including a 71-yarder. QB Dayton Raiola passed for 210 yards. Ethan Ervin and Justin Baker contributed 137 rushing yards combined. Buford secured the top seed in Region 8.

  • Last week: Won against Troup 55-48. With 21 seconds left, Caleb Hill made an 18-yard run to secure the win. Sandy Creek saw its early 28-0 lead dwindle, eventually trailing 48-47, but Hill’s touchdown sealed their comeback. Hill passed for 303 yards and four touchdowns, adding 127 rushing yards and two scores. Zalen Green’s 40-yard kickoff return set up the final scoring drive. Sandy Creek won the Region 2 title.
